Prologue: A Minnie social experiment
Hi. I read this post on Substack by Austin Kleon where he lists his 10 highlights of the week.
I liked that concept so I’m going to steal it. (Get the reference?)
But first, here is some context.
This May, I’ve deleted all my social media (except Substack and Strava). In a nutshell, I’ve uninstalled the socials that I spend hundreds of hours scrolling on every year. I kind of made this decision last minute and it’s not for my mental health - it’s more of an experiment - but maybe my mental health will benefit from it anyway?
What I’m curious about
I’m curious to see if I am more productive in this time away from socials. I’m curious to see if I notice more things around me in nature. I’m curious to see if I reach out to my friends more for conversation, rather than just feeding them Instagram Reels throughout the day. I’m curious to see if I find I have more time to go for a run, or go to the gym. I’m curious to see if I find more time do do housework…who am I kidding, I never have time for housework.
Also
I feel like I want a space where I can use my own voice. I just wanna be free to make speling mistakes and write in my own accent - do you know what I mean?
So with that being said…look out for my blog that bullets stuff that has stood out to me over the week.
